Clean room. Lots of storage space. Nice area of Newcastle. Good price.
Noise from traffic day and night, but bearable.

Worst nights sleep I've ever had. Group in room above us escorted out in the early hours by police and a man next door kicking his own door in at 4.30am. Only good thing is that hotel has agreed to refund my money.

"Adequate only. To be fair, it all seemed rather shabby: down at heal. GBP40 was too much to pay for, at best, mediocre, with no breakfast."
car parking & proximity to town. Bourbon biscuits.
1 the kettle was on the place for my suitcase. Irritating: moved it onto the desk which was 2 too small. The TV took up ALL the room where I wanted to sit to work on my PC so I had to move it onto the floor my risk. I put it back myself in deference to the cleaning staff. 3 the lift is lined by carpet - and badly done.

"Checking out was the highlight of the stay."
There was a bed.
No bar, restaurant, leisure facilities as advertised due to a fire at the hotel at the beginning of the year which I was not informed about at the time of booking. Unless you were prepared to walk out of the hotel which I was not inclined to do as a lone female traveller on a dark wet night, the only food available was chocolate/crisps/junk from a vending machine in the reception area.

"We thought the hotel was expensive for the room only with no meals. "
Staff were excellent very friendly and welcoming.
Very noisy with pipes knocking in the middle of the night.

"Extremely poor and off putting"
We were not informed that the hotel had had a recent fire and work men would commence work at 7.30am. Also both rooms were damp and smelled appawling. Extermely dissapointed especially as active hotels are normally so reliable when i use them,.

"Hotel ok for a one night business stay, but no more."
bed comfortable and clean bedding
when booked stated no restaurant, however didn't state this was due to recent fire, with half the hotel and facilities missing. I stayed in an ex smoking room which needed decorating. Bathroom needeed renovating too. Even without half the hotel operational this is really only a 2* hotel. I stay regularly in hotels around the country so I have a fair grasp of star ratings!

"Enjoyed it and would do it again in the future."
Quiet location and no hotel disturbance.
Hotel a bit old and tired - needs upgrading but this was reflected in the price.

"Pleasant stay due to nice staff."
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was bright and clean, beds were comfortable.
The shower was old and difficult to operate. Water pressure was poor. Half of the hotel was closed which meant all that was included was the room, no option of breakfast etc... This was due to a fire last year which we were not made aware of at time of booking, nor at check in. We had to walk 20 minutes to get a coffee!

"Half of the hotel, the swimming pool & the kitchen had been destroyed by a fire. It should have been mentioned on the website & we were disappointed that we couldn't use the pool as we were looking forward to that, also there was not even breakfast available, we had to go to a cafe. If we had known about the fire we probably wouldn't have stayed in that hotel. The first room we were given had a radiator that couldn't be turned off but a member of staff came quickly to help & gave us another room."
Friendly & helpful staff.

"the location of hotel was very convenient and good access for the city and Jesmond area....the unfortunate fire, took away the important facilities, needed for a good hotel, overnight stay.Apart from the noise of banging doors from the obvious group of 'weekend lads'occupying rooms,Im sure it would be an ideal place to stay for future reference. The price of 'room-only' was slightly on the high side."
staff were friendly...accomodation,adequate
too many doors banging....obviously,because of the fire, there were no leisure facilities or bar or food facilities...

"Fantastic staff, great rooms if your looking for somewhere to stay close to Newcastle but not right in the hustle and bustle then look no further. With great links to the trains and the airport, the city centre is less than 5 minutes away and only a single stop on the Metro system 3 to the train station and each stop taking less than 2 minutes this hotel is perfect for the weary traveller, the businessman/woman staying overnight for a meeting or conference or the family weekend away. With parking beneath the building and close to one of the main local roads in the area it's easy to get to by car and with the added bonus of knowing that you have somewhere close by to park. Definitely on the top of my list of places to stay in the area."
The friendliness of the staff, The cleanliness of the accommodation and the closeness of the public transport links.

"it would be unfair to review this hotel as it is operating as a budget hotel while last year's fire damage is being repaired. it is in a handy location for Newcastle city centre and provided the roof over my head that I needed."
The location.
I didn't really spend much time there. I was informed before i went that the fire damage severely restricted the facilities available so I didn't have many expectations to be confounded.

"The room was comfortable and quiet. The location was great - really near to the town centre. My experience was let down by the shabby bathroom."
Tea, coffee and biscuits in the room. TV with some digital channels.
The bathroom was old and mouldy.

"Overall a nice weekend but the spa bath was very dissappointing as this was one of the reasons we chose the hotel. The waiters in the restaurant were outstanding."
The meal was very nice and the sauna and steam room were great.
The spa bath was broken so we were not able to use this and our bedroom was in need of redecoration.

"This hotel is in a good location for city centre and other areas of Newcastle"
We were allocated Room 113 at this hotel which was musty and had no outlook other than a wall! The hotel was not busy so I failed to understand why we were allocated this room in the first place. It must be the worst room in the hotel! I did ask to be changed and this was done immediately without any fuss. The other room was very good.

"I have stayed in better equipped hotels for less money but probably got a good deal seeing as it was very close to Christmas. The hotel had everything I needed for a great weekend in Newcastle. Great location for getting to and from the city centre, the room was clean and adequately equipped. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. I would certainly stay there again and recommend to friends."
The location was excellent being just a couple of minutes away from the Jesmond Metro station. The staff were friendly and helpful, I arrived before the official 2pm check-in time but my room was already available. Despite being alongside a main road my room was nice and quiet. The shower was hot and the bed was comfy!
The hotel could do with a lick of paint here and there and my room got quite cold during the night it was mid Dec there were no extra blankets to put on the bed. One of the lights didn't work in my room but this did not cause me a problem.

Not far from the University once I got my bearings. I really liked having access to a pool and gym. Thought that made it great value for money.

"This hotel was a very reasonably priced hotel although we would have liked to have had continental breakfast included in the price as we do not eat a lot of breakfast so felt "
The convenience of being very near to the metro which was one stop to the middle of Newcastle, the fact that we had 2 pillows, the bed was extremely comfy and the room was not too hot as a lot of hotel rooms can be. It was also good to have a leisure centre although we didn't have the opportunity to use it this time.
Unfortunately we were woken by the bin lorry early morning

Hotel was clean and tidy
I had booked a twin room but was given a double room so then had to buy a single room as an extra. Also the noise in the corridors during the night was atrocious.I hardly slept a wink all night.
