"cheap but not overly cheerful - would have made a complaint had we been staying for more than one night"

location in the centre of Bournemouth

fridge in the room not working and on a unstable table - old, tired furnishings - bar closing at 22:15 on a Saturday night - dampness felt on my side of the double bed but no complaints from the rest of te family - only stayed for one night though

"We did not like the way we were herded into our room which was right next to the front door we felt we were almost staying in the hallway the bedroom was very claustrophobic and we felt we were sharing our room with everyone who came into the hotel we had a really bad nights sleep and should we have been staying longer we would have certainly asked for our room to be changed it seemed to us the fact we were staying only one night this room would do but it didn't and we wouldn't recommend it."

    Very Clean

    THE ROOM

"We had an excellent stay. The room was a good size and we had plenty of clean towels with more available when we requested them. The breakfast was very good and efficiently staffed. We were a group of 6 adult females and I would have liked to have known that the room contained 3 double beds and not bunk beds as I had assumed. This did not really bother us, but I can imagine some people may not like sharing a double bed."

    Clean, friendly staff, good breakfast

"The hotel was perfectly adequate for our 2 nights stay. Clean, comfortable, plenty of hot water at all times and the breakfast was excellent. Tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom. We didn't realise that they offered evening meals but that didn't matter as we found plenty of food choices all within walking distance of the hotel. The few staff we met were friendly and all in all we enjoyed our visit."

Great location. Just 3 minutes walk from Bournemouth International Centre, the beach and the pier. The hotel was great value for money.

    Nothing that we disliked.

"Nice quiet hotel with friendly people. The most comfortablist bed in the world. Needs updating on decor but it was very clean and had hairdryers in the rooms, and ironing boards and irons on each floor ready for people to use."

Had everything we needed eg. iron and ironning board, hairdryer all ready for use.

Could do with decor update but it was clean.

The hotel was clean and the dining room and lounge were very nice. Also the staff were friendly and they were helpful.

We found the bed uncomfortable room 19. Also the wash hand basin was really akwardly positioned!

"what can i say! my previous stay was hilton in dockland. fair enough they have attractive breakfast, first night free dinner. what they lack of was sincerety, a very friendly owner, who takes time to chat to us. make us feel wanted. breakfast was more than adequate, bed are just as comfortable. everywhere we want to go was close by. quiet location, which the other place did not have this offer.this just shows a family run hotel feel far superior."

good breakfast, comfortable bed and quiet location

    none to mind

"Hotel lets itself down by only advertising a continental breakfast. We were offered a full english and it was very nice. The decor of the hotel could do with updating and the ringing of the door bell does get quite annoying at times. Visitor than this the hotel was very clean, staff were very friendly and the location is ideal."

    Extremely clean, friendly staff

    A bit old fashioned

"On the whole it was a very pleasant stay, we had clean towels and room service every day, the only thing I would have liked to have known before I booked was that some of the rooms were facing the main road, if I had known this I could have asked for a back facing room."

The food was excellent and the staff very friendly, would not hesitate to recommend it

The only fault I could find that it was situated on a main road and the through traffic was a bit noisy

"Although the hotel is well placed if you have a problem walking the hill down into Bournemouth may be a problem. Parking was quite tight especially as other guests would park slightly over the white lines and there wasn't alot of room for turning. Apart from that the Hotel was very friendly and very clean. The breakfast was good. They also did evening meals, which you ordered at breakfast, which sounded very nice. I would definitely recommend it to anyone."

Everything was clean and we had all the things we needed for our stay. The staff were very friendly and breakfast was just right. Easy access into Bournemouth and surrounding areas.

    There wasn't anything to dislike.

"I booked the hotel on the basis of your guest rating and was not disappointed. Staff were pleasant and courteous, the ambience of the hotel was good and it was on very cold winter days comfortably warm. Location was very convenient, breakfast excellent, and the price extremely reasonable. We would certainly use it again."

The friendliness of the staff, the general comfort of the hotel, and the excellence of the breakfast to start the day

I appreciate that contractors provide rehular business for hotels especially out of season but, without making a great moan about it, they did rather take over the lounge etc.

We felt very relaxed on our stay and the service was excellent.....very nice people !

Trivial, but , the room seemed to be too warm to sleep. Problem solved by opening a window.

"I have stayd at B&B many times in England and this stay was just like my expectations."

I like the good old English style, and the nice and friendly staff at the hotel.

I would prefer more soft music in the dining room at breakfast.
