"Problem with restuarant resolved by giving a bottle of wine. Manager tried his best with a difficult situation. Overall staff friendly and stay enjoyable."

Room good size, bar meals very good, retaurant next door excellent

Because it was near Christmas the restaurant was not available two nights although the internet said it would be. On last night we used the restaurant - meal not particularly good.

Good location - 5 minutes walk to sea front and city centre.

Shower was not powerful enough, room rather small, the entire hotel in need of refurbishment. Although English breakfast was included we had to order it and it took ages. In the end I left without having one as I had a meeting to attend.

"Generally OK but not competitive with other hotels"

External condition good and pleased to see that it was being maintained. Nice foyer and restaruant. Airy room. Quite clean

Room rather tired although recent new windows fitted. Light shines from hotel skylight below during the night. Lift out of action. Room doors rather flimsey. Outside appearance dated.

"Excellent location in West Cliff. Ample private car park. Easy no hassle experience and surprisingly quick to book in / out. Breakfast service best ever known. Desperately requires a refurb to corridor decor and corridor layout to give a more direct access to rooms however. Rooms are bordering on acceptable but everything worked and nice size."

Large room, small but modern TV with sky, tea making with biscuits, fast check in / check out, good value.

Dated corridor decor, rabbit warren corridors.

"the hotel was in a good position for local attractions. The hotel was a good size very bright and contempary with good facilities i.e. leisure club. the upgraded room we had was excellent a large room with a large bed which was very comfortable, the bathroom was a good size too having a seperate bath and shower which is very usefull. The only down side was that it did have a fridge but was empty, even if there had just been a couple of bottles of water. we would highly recommend this hotel. The food in the restaurant was also of a very good standard, we had dinner and breakfast."

a large bedroom with a good size bathroom

    the mini bar was empty!

    nice airy room. generally good.

"Overall, our stay was fine. However, we felt that the cost was expensive due to the poor standard of decor. The room and bathroom let it down badly which was a shame as the entrance areas were nice."

Facilities were fine and entrance area lounge etc were nice. There was a good breakfast choice.

As soon as you left the entrance area, the rest of the hotel was poor. The decor of the lift, hallways and bedroom were in urgent need of redecoration. The hallways did not smell very nice.

The fact there were plenty of facilities.

The staff on the front desk weren't overly helpful. They could do with being trained in customer services.

"1. Bedroom dingy, out dated decor and poor lighting 2. Bathroom: Pink carpet, grey with age and shower head leaked from edge 3. Small circuar swimming pool with central pillar, not suitable for exercise, changing room dated and uninviting, towels thin and skimpy 4. Dinner expensive for the standard of cuisine 5. Breakfast not enough places set for business people, to many reserved tables 6. The front of house and waiting on staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient."

Hotel enterance, lounge and bar were stylish and comfortable

"The hotel was very comfortable with good food and service. Lounge and Bar area very good. It was lovely to have after dinner coffee broughtn out to the lounge area as the restaurant tended to be very warm. We used pool twice a day and found shower facilities better than expected. Thank you very much for an enjoyable stay. We shall book again next year."

Light, large airy room with adequate facilities.

Traffic noise in the morning. Dated decor in the bedroom, although it was neat and tidy and did not spoil our stay in any way.

"It was a very pleasant stay - the staff were very helpful and friendly. I did feel that I had a enough information at the time I booked the hotel. I had just planned a couple of day's break for me and a friend to relax and just do as we pleased and the hotel offered us all of that. I was only disappointed that we didnt have enough time to make use of all the facilities"

The room was light and airy with an excellent standard - the bathroom was large and well equipped

the shower was not efficient it was very difficult to maintain a constant temperature - there was a tile missing above the bath

"We stayed in this hotel in June and the restaurant service was much better. It was all waiter service and as I am on crutches did not appreciate the self service breakfast or self service sweet service at night."

Clean and tidy.I did request a room close to lift as I have mobility problems but the room was quite a long way from lift.

Room was very hot and with the windows open very noisy. Pillows were very hard.

"Overall it was nice but it was just that the room was probably smaller than my bedroom at home and we had paid "

It was clean and staff were helpful.

Upon arrival the room wasn't ready and we were told it would be ready by 2pm. However, at 2.20pm we returned, were told it was ready at reception and then went up to find cleaners in the room. I think it could have been a bigger room for the price too.

"Reception and Foyer was very nice. Unfortunatly the rest of the hotel was a little shabby."

Nothing To Mention About the Room, See Below. The Breakfast Was Usual Hotel Standard. Staff were Very Plesant And Helpfull.

The Room Was To Small For The Price I Paid. I Had To Repair The Toilet As It Would Not Flush.TV Is Far To Small.

"Would have been more happy if where very thing was ie swimming pool etc was!! instead just handed our room keys!! Also our shower was luke warm, and the same day We went swimming and the showers there were also luke warm, when I reported to receptionist She did not seem that concerned!! I was just concerned that the next day We were checking out of hotel, and the next customer would not have hot water!!"

very clean, nice room, and breakfast very nice..

Found the Receptionist not very pleasant or helpful, did not explain where the facilities were, not very happy!! perhaps she was having abad day!!

"We already knew about the hotel before booking, and everything was up to our expectations. The website was very informative and provided us with all the information that we required. This contributed towards our choice of hotel."

The room was light, spacious, with a nice outlook, and the bed was very comfortable. The food was delicious with a good choice of menu.

It was noisy at night during the early hours of the morning.

"The reception area is modern and bright. Staff are very polite. The restaurant is one of the best I`ve come across. Selection and quality of food is excellent. On the downside, the room, although adequate for the one night, was showing the signs of wear and tear. Could do with an update."

The choice and quality of the restaurant menu was excellent. Service was excellent. Food was super.

The rooms & corridors were very dated and tatty. Carpets were very worn. Paintwork was shabby. Shower was unpredictable.

"The staff were very friendly and helpful. Outdoor pool was lovely and warm - wish we had known that towels were provided by the leisure club - would have saved us packing them. Hotel is in an ideal position, close to the beach and within easy walking distance of the town. There is an Italian restaurant in the basement of the hotel - not sure if it is actually part of the hotel or a separate establishment, but the food was very good and reasonably priced."

The room was bright, clean and comfortable and we were surprised that we had such a large bathroom.

Our room was very warm and stuffy at night, although admittedly we did stay in the middle of a heatwave. Could really do with a fan in the room.

Good value for money. Excellent indoor swimming pool, plus outdoor pool, gym, sauna all included. Location near enough to beach, but far enough to be quieter. Italian restaurant has good food and lots of choices.

Rambling corridors, small lift, many stairs to room. Shower in room wasn't working properly.

"On the internet it did state that the hotel had been refurbished upon arrival I found this to be the reception area only!!! The bedrooms were well used they would benefit from being refurbished! Air conditioning in all rooms would be very welcome, my room was very warm with very little ventilation."

Good location, room adequate, bar meal fine although rather expensive

Hotel reception had been refurbished pity it did not extend to the rest of the hotel, it would have been ideal to offer a full english breakfast earlier than 7.30am, I was offered a continental breakfast in my room with an extra charge of

The room was very comfortable with plenty of space also it was nice to have both a seperate shower and bath. this made it very easy for my wife bieng disabled.

    we found everything satisfactory
