"A wonderful, relaxing, perfect weekend - we will definitely be coming back."

The room was wonderful and made our stay that much more enjoyable. We wanted a special weekend away together and thats exactly what we got staying at this hotel. All the staff were friendly and helpful, recommending a great Greek restaurant.

Staff friendly, helpful and polite. Good location

Showers leaked around joints, Water temp. changed from hot to cold very quickly and slowly back to hot as other people used them, Glasses in the dinning room were dirty

    "OK"

Putting two elderly people with steps down to the loo room 2 is asking for trouble. Elderly people have to use the loo at night and don't see to well!

"Very badly maintained hotel. Felt like changing hotels when we say our room. A good B&B would have provided a better service."

Close to town centre. View of the sea.

Shabby. Not confident in the cleanliness. Cold. Extra bedding was a hairy banket. Shower was poor. T.V. Outdated. No telephone. Furniture in a worn-out state. Needs a severe facelift.

"I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Friendly and caring staff made it all the more enjoyable."

Only a 2 minute walk from the BIC. Great hot shower, comfortable bed. Lovely cooked breakfast.

It was clean and the facilities such as tea/coffee and other drinks were available free of charge.

The room was small and there was no carpeting.

The shower water not giving consistent hot water.

The room sizes are good, and we had a great view of the sea. Good location. Comfortable bed and pillows.

The facilities were very basic. The TV was a small portable on the wall, and picture was fuzzy. I would at least expect clear pictures and ideally Sky. The noise from around the hotel was clearly audible. The bathroom was horrible. There was a large space next to the basin that could easily have housed a cupboard to provide more surface for toiletries. As it was, we had to cram our toothbrushes etc behind the taps. The taps were those old fashioned separates, instead of the more common mixers, which is a bit difficult for children.

    The rooms were very smokey

"Sadly upon arrival, we had booked a no somking room, the room we stayed in although stating no smoking, smelled strongly of smoke, the re was an empty beer can on top of the four poster bed and the Television set was not recieving any television channels. The location of the Hotel was good for access to the beach as the weather as nice, however we felt that the hotel needed to be re-decorated to make it a little more modern,"

    Location

Non working appliances, general decor of room, not thrroughly cleaned from previous occupant.

"The location was great for the BIC, sea, restaurants and town centre. The bridal suite was spacious with huge windows and a lovely view of the garden and sea. The jacuzzi and basin were situated in the bedroom, which maybe slightly intimate for a 'first time couple'! The bar is quite small and was not well stocked but the hotel was not busy during our visit. As in many seaside resorts, the hotel is quite old and looked a bit tired in places but was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and polite."

It was ideally situated for the BIC, which was the purpose of my visit. The staff were friendly and efficient. Though the surroundings were quite homely, I also felt they were a little dated and the whole place could do with a facelift, comfortable beds and a good breakfast, but the room was quite cold. Overall a comfortable visit.

The hotel is a little outdated and the room though pleasant, was cold.

Great view from the room the layout was superb

The spa bath was old and dirty, when it was switched on lots of bits came out of the jets into the water- the shower didn't work

"25/08/06 - 27/08/06 I was pleasantly surprised at the central location of the hotel. The victorian decor and chandaliers in the reception area and hallways gave the hotel a certain ambience. Some may say it looked tired but it was so much better than modern plastic hotels that have no character at all. Checking in/out was done in 1minute and throughout my short stay the staff could not have been more helpful, right down to borrowing an iron to press my shirt. If you miss the evening meal then there is a Chinese and an Indian restaurant 2 minutes walk plus an Irish bar down one of the side streets. I would certainly use this hotel again."

The door leading out to a massive veranda complete with table, loungers and chairs. Overlooking the sea/promenade it was a sun trap.

The towels were threadbare though clean and the net curtains on the veranda door were yellow and tatty.

easy access to local town, easy parking, easy to find, check in swift

didnt think much of the room, for the money spent.

"150 per night very poor value. towels for children were very small, old and tatty Bathroom, very poorly maintained, shower a joke. Overall, fitures and fittings dated from the 1980's and were maintained by an enthusatic owner? The main window had been replaced with a modern PVC frame - had 2 4inch screws in the bottom at an angle holding it in place. Given its great location its a real waste of potential....."

That we only had to endure two nights ;-

"it has been a very pleasent place to stay.I didn't bother about the noise made by the youth going on the roads.it is to be expected ina city centre. all the staff have been very pleasent, very helpfull. good dining room and breakfast. the location is fantastic! it came as a pleasent surprise eventhough I know that I may have sea views.I have seen families, couples of all ages, singles in the hotel so I think it is suitable for all kinds of groups. I would certainly recommend it to friends and family. thanks for a good time."

    the location,views from the windows

tight parking, but I suppose it is good enough ina city centre.the windows wouldn't open enough and it was hot.

"Much more character than you get in some of corporate chains; the 1970s wallpaper actually did add to the charm. Very good value for money"

    Faded elegance

For those who need an early start Breakfast start time could have been a bit earlier but I still got cornflakes and toast which was fine.

"Very disappointed when checking in we asked what time was dinner served between when the reply came back we do not serve dinner in this hotel. Outside swimming pool out of use. There was a sauna advertised but we never did find it!!! Seeing as we at out every night I think we would have been more comfortable in a Travel Lodge and it would have been cheaper. Hotel was kept very clean and the waitress service at breakfast was very good. Apart from that I can't say that I would recommend it to any of my work colleagues or friends. Lucky enough Bournemouth has some nice places to eat in the evenings."

Breakfast was ok in the morning and found dining room staff very friendly.

Room extremely small even for a single room ...but it was a double!!

"the hotel genrally was good, however, it was not immacualtly clean and at breakfast there was a small choice of food, although cooked to order which was good, many mornings were spent eating breakfast listning to the chef screaming blue murder. there were alot of stairs to the rooms and noone offered to assist with my bags. dinner was not available to my knowledge. i had to ask where the restuarant was, and some of my colleagues agreed with me that it reminded us of Fawlty Towers. however it was close to the confrence centre, it was reasonably priced and the bed was comfortable, I would say for a cheap B and B it was acceptable but i probably wouldnt stay again although i would recomend to others"

it was near the confrence centre and fairly reasonably priced

there was a lot of stairs

"I was disappointed to find that the most basic needs were not met i.e no soap. Clean towels were provided but we were not inclined to use a shower which had obviously not been cleaned after the previous guests had left. The location, parking and views from the hotel were ideal but location is not everything."

The view and the welcome were good

"the decoration is very outdated and poorly finished, the words 'old fashioned' would go some way to describe the facilities. A Hotel called the 'Bournemouth International Hotel' conjures up an image of a top class hotel..... how disappointing!"

"Great location - within walking distance of beach. Cheapest room with a waterbed we could find on the south coast - but room is certainly not the most luxurious because of it. Good for an overnight stay."

Stayed in the room with the waterbed. Bed was fantastic. Large airy room. Room decor quite shabby and outdated now though.

General decor very outdated. Had trouble shutting bedroom door and no lock. Breakfast is a buffet, we arrived towards the end of serving time and the food was running out and not being replenished and staff were hard to find.

"On the whole the hotel was a pleasant place to stay with a nice garden and a great sea view and the staff were friendly. I would have liked to have had prior warning of the wedding reception on the Saturday evening. After a few beers in town I came back early to have a quiet nightcap but couldn't get into the bar."

It was close to the town centre.

Although my room was clean, some of the bathroom and bedroom furniture had seen better days and could have done with repairing.
