"Visitor than the 2 what I would call minor bad points However essentialIt was a fantastic experience. My Husband appreciated that SKY sports was on the TV in the bar. "
The staff were all stars even when faced with hostile guests. There were a couple of Christmas parties going on in the hotel on the night we stayed and I think some of the party guests over indulged. At all times your staff were professional and courteous in some very trying situations. From my perspective nothing you asked of them was ever too much trouble. The food in the bar was beyond excellent, Well presented and delivered in an efficient fashion. I had arrived planning not to have breakfast as the price on the website was detailed as £15.95. However on checking in I found that it had been reduced so decided that it was now worth staying in the hotel for. What value for money, again good food, well presented and A1 staff
I have spent a lot of nights in Hotels and guest houses and my job has me working away all of the time. The bed in room 546 has to be the MOST uncomfortable I have ever had to try and sleep in. The shower was also a waste of time. It was inefficient as the head was blocked and the water was only coming out of the middle.

"A very nice time. B'ham a great under-rated city."
central location, comfort, staff, late check-out option in superior double, parking
no aircon would not stay in this hotel in summer- have done before but presume this adds to lower price; mean on small luxuries like shower gel, tea bags etc

"Room was clean and over looking a car park. Ordered room service pizza at 3am + 2 drinks was told there would be a 20 min wait as there was one order ahead of us. Two phone calls to reception later it took 1 hour for the pizza to arrive, without the drinks, so a further phone call, they took another 10 min. Explanation was that they were busy. For a 4* hotel with over 200 rooms to not cope with more than two orders is very poor. This resulted in not being able to get to sleep until past 4am. It would have been quicker to go to the local fast food place but far more dangerous Birmingham Broad St = Scene from Booze Britian We were unable to sleep until 5am due to a party in the room above. Informed staff who did deal with this quickly. My overall experience was close to that of staying in a back packers hostel when I was in my early 20s. Not what I expect for a 4* hotel and certainly not the quality of stay I expect to be paying good money for. There appeared to be a "

"For a one night stop over it was fairly average. If we had been staying for a longer period of time we would of definately brought the bad points to the managements attention."
Breakfast was very nice, good quality Breakfast. Staff very friendly.
The bedroom was definately not of a 4 star standard. The hairdryer did not work at all. the toilet was dirty on arrival. Standard and comfort of bed was appaulling. Room in definate need of refurbishment. Shower in desperate need of de-scale. Restaurant was extremely hot.
stayed on February 24, 2009
Staff were very friendly.
There was a lot of traffic noise due to the position of the hotel and the decor was outdated. One of my pet hates is shower curtains and i would have expected better for a 4* hotel.

"This hotel is great value and the price is outstanding for such a location. The staff were some of the most friendly and helpful i have experienced."

"please see above - Please also note when we left around 11.00 on 2 February whoever the guy was on receiption deserves a special note for his superb and happy attitude. Made us feel good to face a busy day at the NEC and a 200 mile drive home in the snow"
room, reception, evening meal were excellent
breakfast was dire. Bacon like leather certainly not cooked fresh but warmed up eggs like bullets, tomatoes cold, sausages far too strong, tea cold and stewed one of us only got half cup as pot empty and requested top up did not arrive as waitresses were hoovering and clearing up round us. We were at the end of the service and were told it would be made for us which we thought was good. Restaurant Manage very helpful. However we did not see him again and the food was truly inedible and had certainly not been made fresh for us. One of the waitresses was extremely rude, tutting and rolling her eyes at a colleague the colleague was absolutely fine. This was reported at the desk and the manager knocked off the price of the breakfast. Sorry do not know name of manager who dealt with but she was very professional and pleasant and dealt with our complaint to our satisfaction. It did rather spoil are impression of what had been a good stay. However, the guy on receiption when left was extremely pleasant, friendly and helpful so he saved the day and we would on balance stay again

"Poor"
The welcome at check in was good and they were very helpful when I needed a mobile phone charger.
The lock on the front door and the door into the adjoining room did not work so I felt very vunerable. My room was close to the lift so I was kept awake most of the night by noise from the lift and people coming and going. I ordered breakfast to be delivered to my room for between 7am and 7:20am but it did not turn up. I chased and it eventually arrived at 7:35am but half of what I ordered was missing. I was already late for my conference so couldn't wait for the missing food to be delivered. I spoke to the lady on reception and she waived the tray charge but I do not think I should have had to pay for the breakfast at all. My colleague experienced the same problem with her breakfast not arriving.
